How it works

Four steps to a bad band

Like a karaoke night, but everyone is in the band and nobody rehearsed.

    Open the game

    One of you opens the link on a phone and taps Party. That phone hosts the room.

    Share the code

    A 4-letter room code pops up. Friends type it in, or just tap the invite link.

    Grab an instrument

    Every phone becomes part of the band: drums, guitar, keys or vocals.

    Play. Badly.

    The song kicks off on every phone at once. Chase the combo, then relive the highlight reel together.

Pick your chaos

Solo or with the whole band. Four ways to get it wrong.

  • Classic

    Any instrument, the whole song, start to finish. Hit the notes, keep the combo going.

  • Madness

    One song, and your instrument keeps switching mid-song. SWITCH! New part, new moves.

  • Idol

    Party only

    Four songs, a new instrument for you in each one. Most points takes the crown.

  • Memory

    Piano only

    Learn the riff while the notes show. Then they vanish. Play it back from memory.

  • Solo or Party

    Play alone, or host a room for up to 4. Empty seats? Add virtual friends. They never complain.

  • Easy to Expert

    Four difficulties per song. Start on Easy, blame the phone on Expert.

    Up to 1,000,000 points a song with a ×4 combo multiplier. Leaderboards for today, this week and all time.

  • Highlight reel

    Everyone's glory moment and total disaster, replayed for the whole band.

Questions, answered badly

Well, accurately. We just felt bad about the rest of the page.

Is it free?

Yes. Open the link and play. No account, no download.

How many people can play?

One to four. Play Solo, or host a Party room for up to 4 phones, the host included. Short on bandmates? Fill the empty seats with virtual friends.

Can I play on my computer?

No. The band plays on phones and tablets: you tap, swipe and drag with your thumbs. Open this page on your phone instead.

Do we need to be in the same room?

No. Anyone with the room code can join from anywhere. It's just funnier when you can see each other's faces.

Do I need to be good at music?

Absolutely not. That's the whole point. Four difficulties, from Easy to Expert, and the band is supposed to suck a little.

Do I have to sing?

No. Vocals are played with your thumb: drag the Karaoke Ball onto the notes. Singing along is optional and not recommended.

Where do the songs come from?

They're originals made for the game, about the stuff that actually happens on a Tuesday: lost keys, laundry, the stove.
