Our Band Sucks is a party rhythm game that runs in the phone's browser: one of you opens the link, a 4-letter room code pops up, the others type it in, and every phone becomes drums, guitar, keys or vocals. Then the band plays a song together. Badly, probably.
It's free, there's nothing to install and nobody signs up for anything. From "what should we play?" to the first note is about thirty seconds.
Why it works at a party
Everyone has the controller
Any phone or tablet with a browser joins. iPhone, Android, that old tablet in the drawer. No app store, no updates, no accounts.
Three minutes a round
A song is a round. Pick the next one, swap instruments, go again. Nobody waits twenty minutes for their turn.
Zero skill required
Four difficulties, from Easy to Expert. The band is supposed to suck a little; that's the name, not a bug.
Same room or not
The room code works from anywhere. It's funnier in the same room, when you can watch each other's faces during the drum roll.
How to start in thirty seconds

Open the game
One of you opens the link on a phone and taps Party. That phone hosts the room.

A 4-letter room code pops up. Friends type it in, or tap the invite link you send them.

Grab an instrument
Drums, guitar, keys or vocals. Each is played with your thumbs: tap, swipe, hold or drag.

Play a song
It starts on every phone at once. Chase the combo, then watch the highlight reel together.
Good for
Birthdays and house parties, where the group is two to four people who'd rather do something than scroll. Pre-drinks, while everyone is still capable of a swipe. Family evenings, since there's nothing to read out loud and nothing to spell. The office kitchen at lunch, if the office is that kind of office.
It's also a fine game for one: Solo mode has every song and instrument, and the empty seats in a Party room can be filled with virtual bandmates when there's only two of you.

How many people can play?
One to four. Play Solo, or host a Party room for up to 4 phones, the host included.
Does everyone need to download something?
No. It's a web page. Open the link, type the code, play. On iPhone and Android alike.
Do we need a TV or a laptop?
No. Everything happens on the phones. The song plays on each one, so headphones or a speaker make it sound better.
Is it free?
Yes. No account, no ads, no packs to buy.
Can we play on a computer?
The band plays on phones and tablets, with thumbs. On a computer the page shows a QR code to open it on your phone.
