Party games for adults

A party game for adults, played on everyone's phone

For game nights, pre-drinks and the end of a dinner party. No kids' graphics, no app downloads, no skill needed.

Most phone party games for adults are about saying something outrageous. Our Band Sucks is about doing something slightly embarrassing together: playing a song as a band, badly, and laughing at the highlight reel afterwards. Each friend's phone becomes drums, guitar, keys or vocals, and the song starts on all of them at once.

It fits the moments adult game nights actually have: ten minutes before the food, the lull after dessert, the pre-drinks before going out. Nothing to install, nobody has to read rules out loud.

Why it works for grown-ups

  • Low effort, high laughs

A round is one song, about three minutes. Nobody commits to a two-hour board game.

  • Skill doesn't matter

Four difficulties per player, and the game's name sets expectations. Everyone's allowed to be bad.

  • Songs about adult life

Ten originals about lost keys, laundry, cold beer on a Friday and the stove you may have left on.

  • A crown, if you want one

Idol mode: four songs, a new instrument each round, most points wins. For the competitive friend.

Is it a drinking game?

It isn't built as one, and it works perfectly sober. But plenty of groups invent their own rules: whoever finishes with the lowest accuracy picks the next round, the drummer who breaks the combo explains themselves. Play responsibly, and keep the phone away from the drinks.

Questions, answered badly

  • Is it suitable for adults only?

It's for everyone. There's nothing explicit; it's just made for adult game nights rather than kids.

  • How many people can play?

One to four in a room. Larger groups can run two rooms or swap in between songs.

  • Do we need a TV?

No. Everyone plays on their own phone.

  • Do we need to be good at music?

No. Four difficulties, and nobody sings.

  • Is it free?

Yes. No ads, no account, no download.
